High School
No, this is not a rant. I am 16, and I do have a lot of things to complain about my school. But this is not the blog for that. What this blog is about is the point of high school. Hold on, I promise that I am not complaining. This all started yesterday while sitting in first block. That is TOK. My teacher brought up the question and even gave us a print out of a blog post someone else wrote. It was from teachersatrisk. It stated that past grades 9 & 10, that there really is no point. That past those grades students are sitting there in required classes that they don't need and probably never use. That is exactly the point!!!!! Almost everyday me and my friends will be sitting there saying, "why do i need this? I will never use this once I graduate!!!" I can recall on more than one occasion me saying that once i am out if high school I will probably just forget most of this stuff. Like when i was sitting in math, and I ask my teacher after class, "when will I ever need to know this?" Thats when he pulled out his phone and said, "To make stuff like this." Me being a smart ass replyed with "but I think I am growing up to be in psychology." Yeah, that shut everyone up right there. I do understand that school is necessary, but some of the stuff they're teaching is not. Another thing is also a point I have made before. That saying that goes high school prepares you for the real world. WTF!!!!!!!!!! What the hell am I in now? Pretending land of magical stuff? And the whole preparing crap. Daycare prepares me for elementry. Elementry prepares me for middle. Middle prepares me for high. High prepares me for college. College prepares me for work. Work prepares me to retire. Retirement prepares me to die. So my whole life is preparing me to go away.......... Then why do I want to spend it in high school, working hard to pass, just so I can never see it again. Pretty POINTLESS you ask me.
