Music

Music is everywhere. We are almost always listening to it. Escpeacially us teenagers. We have our ipods on always, playing a thousand songs, always adding more. We own millions of cds (well i do) and it blasts on our stero when we drive in the car. It is even there when we watch movies. Which somehow, movies get all the best songs.

So what kind of types of music are there? All kinds. I even stopped trying to figure out what they are classified under. A song might sound like this genre but really be this genre. Like Kesha's Tik Tok. Is that pop, or rap, hip hop. I do not really care, I care about the lyrics. I have a few questions. What soes it feel like to wake up feeling like P Diddy. Does it make me awake when I have to wake up at 5:30 in the morning? Does it make me feel rich? Cause that would suck, I would think I have money but I really do not. And how about the line, "they hear we got swagger, but we kick them to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger". WTF!!!!!! WTF????? Isn't that her dad. First of all no. HELL NO. That is issues write there. You should not think that anybody who looks like your dad is.... well whatever.

All that is being said here is the music is a part of life. Everyone listens to it, everyone has there own taste in it. Like I do no understand people who like rap. Yeah some is good, but it is cRAP. Or heavy metal. No. who the hell wants to sit around and listen to screaming? Who the hell can understand every fudgen word in that song. I would rather listen to eskimo music. Unless I want to headbang. And even then I would choose a different song.

I prefer people like me. People whos iPods go from classic rock to country, from Kansas to Three Days Grace, and end in N*SNC.

So rock on music, Rock on, You will always be needed. And we will always looking for better, newer, cooler stuff.

Trust

I do not really understand the difficulty of this. You either trust someone or you don't. It is as simple as that. What I do not understand why people do not trust anyone for no reason. It should take a lot for someone to stop trusting you. I get how you lose your trust for someone when they lie to you, but that is just stupid. Every one lies. Even the most good? people have lied of couple times. Even you have. So just assume that every friend you have had lied to you.

Actions can also make you untrustworthy. They can screw up all the time and that is why you hardly let them do anything. But people make mistakes sometimes, but if most of the time they prove that they are, well in most words, awesome. Then just let their bounderies stretch out a little further. Let them prove that they can handel it.

Most people who have trust issues probably have them for a great reason. And it is not just because most people made them that way. All I am saying is that some people should trust more. Not be so gaurded. Unless there is a really awesome reason for it. The only problem is that everyone is different. A reason that you might think is stupid they might think is a pretty good one.

That is the end. Trust more, unless someone really screwed up.

Death With Dignity

Death With Dignity is a law that says that doctors have the right to help someone kill themselves if they have a terminal illnesses. This is saying that they have the right to die before the long, horrible process they will die from. Apparently, this is supposed to be easier.

There are, like always, rules that need to be followed.

Of course the most obvious is that you have to already be dying. But you have to be dying within six months. Then the doctor can prescribe you a letheal dose of medication.

The request most be witnessed by two witnesses. These people must not be in relation with the person or benefit from the death. So they are going to leave the hospital and go down a block and scream, "hey, I need two people to watch this person kill themselves!!!" These people cannot be the persons doctor. Once the person makes the request then they need to be analyzed by a different doctor so they can make sure the decision is a sane one. Because some people who decide to, in a way, kill themselves might not be sane.

Omce this is done there is a 15 day wait and then you have to ask again. And all this is done within the sox months. So by the time anyone gets to do this they will already be dead. The dying patient can also cancel his request. Nobody would have ever guessed this. They all thought that the minute you said you wanted this you could not take it back and if you did, they would just kill you. And doctors are not allowed to do that.

In my opinion, this law is ok. It is the persons decision. If they do not want to wait to die from this dieses, than they should not have too. They should be able to end it any time they want. It is not like it is suicide because these people are going to die. They do not want to do it painfully.

Museum

Yeah. We are 15, 16, 17, and 18, but that did not stop us from going the the museum. It was awesome. Besides the learning part anyways. We did the IMAX. Which kina made me afraid of the sea. It was titled Sea Monsters, and the creatures looked creepy. We also did the planetarium. Yeah the whole shibang. And that is just awesome on its own. We did cosmic collisions. We went through how the the moon was made, stars, astroid stuff, how the dinosaurs were killed of, and a galaxy. Again, the whole shibang.

Then there were the exhibits. My favorate is the dinosaurs. :)
It was pretty amazing. Fossils, bones, everything. Many many pictures were taken. The space oddysey was pretty cool too. Almost everything was glowing. And my sister even carried the world on her shoulders. Then we were off to the wild life exhibits. I probably spent the most time there. Nothing beats looking at, well plastic I think, animals. We saw monkeys, kangaroos, polar bears, linxs, everything. I even got pictures of plastic turkeys. The zebra who had the face under the other one creeped me out though. I was just pissed off because out of the entire place, and every animal we saw, I did not see a hyena. And I was searching for. I was so pissed off that I did not see one that I told Allie that I will go to Africa and see them. Anyway, off to the mummies we go. And yes, we imitated Psych. And yes, it was awesome. I do not understand why the exibit there is so small. They could do so much with it. If it wasn't only as big as my apartment, it would be one of my favorites. Besides the native exhibit and minerals one, we did epermential, health. It was actually pretty fun. They took my height, which said 5 2 1/2, I think it lies. It measured how I walk. I learned that I loook funny when i walk, my span is small, and I have zero energy. Then me and Allie had a brain competition to see how can relax there brain better. It was intense. Even the two guys next said it was. The ball did not move for like five minutes. She one after awhile. But I do not know if it is a bad thing that are brains are kinda alike. Then we turned into doctors and did labs. I did one we did in school, seeing cells. But the one her was better. More professional and nice.

I do not care how old you are, the museum is one of the most magical places on earth. Its fun, exciting, and you even forget your actually learning. Hell, I learned more there in a day then I do in school for a month. This year it might even be two months.

Children Shows

I have realized, now that I am a teenager, that kids t.v. are really really really weird. This is not because I am almost 17 and find something dirty in most of them, but because looking back at the shows I used to watch and shows that are on now, they have many problems. Some are even creepy.

There are shows that have grown adults on them. I am not saying that they are creepy for that reason, they are creepy because they are talking right into the camera. For example, shows like Blues Clues. And how they ask the audience a question, then they say "I cant here you!!!" and your response is, "duh. I am nowhere where near you and there is a big screen between us." And nobody shouts out the answers. For that reason and for another. Being that the kids feel stupid for screamng at the t.v. They also see no point in this.

I found alot of shows that I can complain (so to speak) about.

Dora The Explorer: First, Dora is the worst explorer ever. She needs to find the banana tree. Well look behind you. It's right there. How can you not see it? That goes to why is she walking in a straight line. The tree is behind her, that line is going to make you go forward, the wrong way. Why is she even on the trail? Be a real explorer, cut through the damn field. And the times she goes to grandmas house. Why does her grandma live so far away? Where are her parents and why are they letting her go on these dangerous missions? My opinion is that Dora is in the wrong business. She has a talking monkey, map, backpack, and she can even capture the talking fox. She can make so much more money off of them than being an explorer.

Spongbob Squarepants: This show is just filled with dirty innuendos. First there is the KRUSTY KRAB. And everyone is just waiting for the writers to admit that Patrick and Spongebob are way too close friends.

Now there are new shows that I don't even know what there called. But passing through them I think to myself. "WTF Mate?" They are so weird, and I doubt the teach children anything anymore. I miss the good shows that used to play. Shows that were actually AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

History, Sorta

A question that my TOK class is currently pondering is why teach history? We were discussing it today via liveblog when my teacher posted a link that, well, irritated me. Let me start with saying it irritated me because I always believed history to be fact. I did not know why we taught it, I just knew they where true facts. But now with TOK, I have developed a reflex to QUESTION EVERYTHING. Thinking about I realize, that there is more to history.

While questioning everything, we came up with that history is more like an interpretation. It is us students learning about what someone interpreted to have happened. So is history even true? One point brought up is from The DaVinci Code. The book says that history is written by the winners. That is where the article that bothered. An article, in my opinion, that proved this to be true.

This article talks about Texas. I state that I really really really hate now. The Texas school board was writing a new curriculum that would go in to the textbooks. They decided that one figure, Cesar Chavez, is not important enought to be taught to the students. What makes them decide what is important or not?

Here is a short history lesson. Chavez taught people to stand up for their rights. He did this peacefully and did a lot for the Latino nation. But the Texas Board of Education does not think that this is important for the students to know. The article describes it as the 'board not seeing a historical value in the students knowing this. Texas Governer Rick Perry also agrees with this. "Republicans don’t see it in their best interest to teach children about civil rights figures who could inspire black or brown people." This quote is bolded in the article and does anybody doubt that this is an accurate reason? The article than continue to say, "The last thing they want is to have a whole new generation of children who will grow up to stand up for their rights, hold vigils and organize boycotts." And I agree. This school board is trying to supress these kids and make them think that this is the way it is and there is nothing I can do to change it. (sounds like another school I know........)

My problem is that this is not right. I do not think that it is right for anything to be left out. But the reason that is stated in this article makes it worst. That proves that history is written by the winners. If the Board wins then they sorta decided what history is. Even if they do succeed, that won't stop people learning it. They still have their parents to teach them, other people, and the internet. So should we believe anything we learn in history class?

CSAP

The best part of being upper classmen is not having to take CSAP. It is just stupid. First, no one actually gets graded on the test, but it is treated more importantly than a test we take to actually pass school. Yeah I know, It tests the school and depending on the scores the school gets funding. I am not actually sure where that money goes though. That could be that I honestly do not care, or that I just do not pay that much attention. All I do know is that Eveywhere I turn every club, person, or group of somesort is fundraising still. There is a possibility that the funding goes to changes in the school, but in all the years I have been there, I don't remeber any changes. I do notice how muh time it wates, and the big deal everyone makes about it. The random adults that are always hanging out in the hallway always gives you a set of things to do. Like "make sure you get plenty of sleep". I am going to get the same amount of sleep I do everynight. "Wake up a little earlier and eat breakfast!!!" Listen, no way in hell am i waking up earlier. Not gonna happen. And why would i do it if when I get to school we eat there. It might not be the best thing i can eat (warm juice and ripped-off fruit loops) but it saves my sleeping time. Then they go around saying how important it is. Maybe to you. To ME AND EVERY OTHER STUDENT it something we speed through than pretend we take our time on. There may be someone who takes it seriously but whatever. This test also takes up half the day. So I dont have most my classes. I miss these required classes that are so important that people get yelled at for missing any other day. And the rules are possibly stupider. Not just for the fact that Each year since 1st grade you have to hear them. Day after day after day, year after year after year, You hear these rules. I know them just as well as I know anything else. But I have to sit there and listen to my teacher talk more than usual. I am so happy that I am a Junior and get to sleep in while everyone else has to get up and take this.
